Why this is so hard

 Ahem,

If I may be so bold....

As I watch these debates and see the Democrats get a pass on everything I fear the Republicans are only in the position they are because they allowed the MSM to frame the debate. I'm sure it was easy to do considering the hissy-fit the MSM has had ever since 2004. So let's consider one item I feel that the Republicans forgot to do...define the opponent.

Let's ponder the 2004 race for a moment. I will again remind everyone that the Democrat presidential nominee was FOR THE WAR...in fact they chose him to represent them in the race because he was a VET and would almost certainly run the war better. So what was their position in 2004???

1. Removing Saddam was right. WOT was right.
2. Democrat way of fighting this war was better
3. They would have secured weapons depots ( oh that was funny I must admit)
4. They would build the " International Coalition" to help us finish the job.

Okay there were alot of other things but THIS is the topic the Republicans should be creaming them on. Now just 2 short years later here is their position.

1. We never should have gone into Iraq...it was better under Saddam.
2. We need to get out of Iraq because......well I am still waiting for a definite reason why...
3. WOT needs to be a police operation.
4. GWB sucks and Cheney is Darth Vader.

This is so defining> Just repeat what they said. Show their inability to stand for anything. They are showing us who they are. Yes we know the press is in their hip pocket...but the contrast is obvious. Are Americans tired of the war???? Or are they tired of the other side not helping us out?

Why can't the Republican's just ask one simple question???

How can you be for removing Saddam two years ago and now say it was wrong but don't offer an alternative?

I suppose the new " do you want us to win?" question is close but I feel it is a little too late.....
